Down-to-earth dishes in a converted 19th century alpine hut
For decades, local alpine herdsmen milked their cows and made the flavoursome alpine cheese in this alpine hut. Due to the changing times, the hut was no longer used. In summer 2011, Karin & Ueli Grossmann-Schläppi respectfully converted the building, which dates back to 1858, into the Alprestaurant Balis. The old wood from the hut was reconditioned and reinstalled. Many details have been preserved or used for other purposes. The alpine hut has been reawakened!
