Your journey to the Haslital
How do I get there?
The journey to the Haslital is part of the experience in itself. Whether by train through the stunning Alpine landscape, comfortably by car over the Brünig Pass, or by plane followed by onward travel – the Haslital is easily accessible from all directions.
From Interlaken (30 minutes) and Lucerne (70 minutes), you can travel in comfort on the Zentralbahn’s panoramic trains directly to Meiringen.
Meiringen is the ideal starting point for exploring the Haslital valley. From here, you can easily reach the holiday resorts of Hasliberg, Innertkirchen and Guttannen, as well as the surrounding attractions, by PostBus, mountain railway or local bus.
By car, you can drive to the Haslital from Basel/Zurich/Geneva via Bern or Lucerne/Brünig (open in summer and winter). From the south, you can reach the Haslital via the Grimsel or Susten Passes (only open in summer). The journey from Bern (via Interlaken Ost) to Meiringen takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The journey from Lucerne (via Brünig) to Meiringen takes about 1 hour.
The municipality of Meiringen has 835 public parking spaces in the village centre and at the valley station of the Meiringen-Hasliberg mountain railways. There is a large multi-storey car park in Hasliberg-Wasserwendi, right next to the gondola lift to Käserstatt.
Zurich Airport
There are hourly direct services from Zurich Airport to Lucerne. With just one change, you can reach Meiringen in around 2.5 hours.
Basel Airport
The bus takes you to Basel SBB railway station in about 15 minutes. From there, there are regular train services to Meiringen, with one change in Lucerne. Journey time: approx. 2.5 to 3 hours.
Geneva Airport
There are hourly direct services from Geneva Airport to Lucerne. With one change, you can reach Meiringen in approx. 3 to 3.5 hours.
