St Michael's Church Meiringen

During the renovation in 1915/16, the remains of the buried three predecessor churches, located around five metres below the current level, were discovered. The excavations of national importance reveal over 1000 years of history. Access is on the west side at the main entrance. The interesting excavations can be admired below St Michael's Church.
