The Haslital holiday resort, beautiful though it is, has its fair share of bad weather and precipitation. But even on the worst of days, there’s no need to despair!
Museums
An open-air museum – and a bit of Sherlock Holmes
At the Ballenberg Swiss Open-Air Museum, the past becomes a tangible experience, with more than 100 centuries-old buildings from all parts of Switzerland, 250 native farm animals, original gardens and fields, as well as demonstrations of traditional crafts and special events. Or, why not follow in the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes? Whatever you choose, the museums in the Haslital are definitely worth a visit.
INDOOR EXPERIENCES
Cinema, indoor pool and power station tours
Don’t assume that sport is off the agenda just because the weather won’t play ball: head to the climbing wall or the indoor pool. Or maybe you’d prefer popcorn and a film? We also highly recommend the guided power station tours organised by Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG. In their underground facilities, you will learn lots of interesting facts about nature and technology.
Gorges
Our top tip for bad weather
Most of our gorges offer quite good shelter in bad weather. Moreover, when it rains, there is more water in the streams and rivers. In other words: The gorges are even more spectacular when it rains.
And did you know that a monster once wandered the Aare Gorge? No? Then get the full story here.
