Haslital

Snowshoeing in a winter wonderland

Go snowshoeing in a winter wonderland. On the Hasliberg. Or in the Rosenlauital. Or in so many other places! You’re spoilt for choice with routes in the Haslital holiday resort. Each one is more beautiful than the last.

TIPS AND TECHNIQUE

Snowshoe the right way!

The best footwear for snowshoeing is ankle-high, waterproof hiking boots or special winter boots. Using the right stepping technique will not only get you moving faster, but will also conserve energy. Always remember the following when walking uphill: as soon as it gets steeper, you should start using the heel lifters. They allow you to stand almost upright, which makes walking uphill much easier. To go downhill quickly with snowshoes, using a glissade or step-slide technique is recommended. To do this, lean back slightly and glide down with your knees slightly bent. You can increase your speed by leaning further back.

Guided tours

Snowshoeing with a guide

Every snowshoe hike in Grindelwald is unique. You can go by day, by night, alone or in a group. A local guide can help you get the most out of your snowshoeing tour. The mountain sports and snow sports schools in the Jungfrau Region offer a wide range of guided snowshoeing tours.
