Sledging in the Jungfrau Region in the Bernese Oberland
In the Alpine region we have been using it as a means of transport in winter since the early days. This device, also called a sledge, consists of two runners and a frame. Today, however, we no longer need it for transporting hay and wood, but as a sport and fun device. Instead, we use it for sledging down a slope in the Jungfrau Region in the Bernese Oberland. Sure, it's much more fun. In the Jungfrau Region, sledging is simply part of the skiing holiday.
What the Jungfrau Region in the Canton of Berne has to offer in terms of sledging
Sledging in the snow-covered winter landscape of the Canton of Berne is pure action, it requires no special knowledge or a lot of practice and is great fun for young and old. As with any other winter sport, however, sledging requires good equipment that keeps you warm. It is advisable to wear waterproof boots with a good tread for a good grip, warm and also waterproof clothing, gloves and a headgear. It is exemplary to wear a helmet when sledging. Especially (but not only!) when sledging with children, it is actually compulsory to protect yourself with a (ski) helmet.
